Tosca 6 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Tosca is a 450mm flush ceiling light built around a polished chrome circular frame with six G9 bulb holders set behind rectangular crystal prisms and a frosted glass drum diffuser. A single faceted crystal sphere hangs at the centre, adding a focal point below the main light source. The 180mm projection from ceiling to base suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above where a pendant would sit too low.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms that need ambient overhead lighting without losing ceiling clearance, the Tosca mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose. The six G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the frosted glass drum, which diffuses light evenly across the room while the surrounding crystal prisms catch and refract it into brighter points. The polished chrome acts as a secondary reflector, bouncing light back towards the ceiling and walls.

The rectangular crystal prisms form a ring around the frosted drum rather than cascading downward, giving the fitting a low profile that works in hallways, landings and master bedrooms where headroom matters. The combination of frosted and clear glass balances functional light distribution with decorative sparkle. At 2.1kg the fitting requires a securely fixed ceiling rose and suitable fixings for plasterboard or lath ceilings.

What bulbs does the Tosca take?

The fitting takes six G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with 3-5W LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for living rooms and bedrooms. Higher wattage halogen G9 bulbs are brighter but run hotter and have shorter lifespans than LED equivalents.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 180mm projection from ceiling to lowest point makes the Tosca well-suited to rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above. It provides overhead ambient light without the downward drop of a pendant or semi-flush fitting.

Can it be dimmed?

The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible, but you must use dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all LED G9 bulbs dim smoothly — check bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchase to avoid flickering or limited dimming range.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply and allow bulbs to cool fully. Remove each crystal prism by hand and wash in warm soapy water, rinse with distilled water if possible to prevent mineral deposits, then dry with a lint-free cloth. Wipe the polished chrome frame and glass drum with a damp microfibre cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the chrome or spray cleaners directly onto the electrical components.
