Description
The TOMIV2 is a directional GU10 LED spotlight bulb that gives a crisp, focused cool white light. It twist-locks straight into a standard GU10 mains holder and runs on 220 to 240V AC, so no separate transformer or driver is needed. The bulb draws just 4.9W while putting out 400 lumens at 4000K, a clean cool white that suits work and display areas. In US terms this is a PAR16 reflector lamp on a GU10 twist-lock cap, with a wide 100 degree beam that spreads the light rather than throwing a tight pencil spot.
At 4.9W it replaces an old 42W halogen spotlight, so it is a direct swap into existing track heads, recessed downlight fittings and adjustable spot bars without changing the holder. The 100 degree beam covers a generous spread for its size, washing a worktop, shelf or feature wall rather than picking out one narrow point, which makes it a flexible choice for kitchens, living rooms and retail or office display lighting. Because it is an indoor IP20 bulb it should be kept to dry interior fittings, away from bathrooms, porches and any damp or outdoor location. The cool white 4000K tone reads as bright and neutral, good for task areas and clear colour matching.
The bulb measures Ø50 by 56mm and weighs 18g, matching the standard MR16-sized GU10 form so it fits the vast majority of GU10 fittings. It carries a Ra 80 colour rendering and a rated life of 25,000 hours, and runs at 100 lumens per watt for low running costs against the halogen it replaces. The PAR16 spot has a white finish and is non-dimmable, so it should be paired with a standard on/off circuit rather than a dimmer switch. The TOMIV2 range also includes other GU10 outputs and beam options for matching a full set of spots.

Frequently Asked
What fitting do I need for this bulb?
It has a GU10 twist-lock cap, the standard mains spotlight fitting. You simply push it in and turn a quarter to lock it into any GU10 holder, such as those used in spot bars, track heads and recessed downlights. No transformer or driver is required as it runs directly on 220 to 240V mains.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
The TOMIV2 draws only 4.9W but produces 400 lumens, which replaces a typical 42W halogen GU10 spotlight. You get the same bright output for a fraction of the energy use. Note the LED itself uses 4.9W, not 42W.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No, this is a non-dimmable bulb. It should be used on a standard on/off lighting circuit. Fitting it to a dimmer switch may cause flicker or buzzing, so a normal switch is recommended.
What does the 100 degree beam angle suit?
The wide 100 degree beam spreads light over a broad area rather than focusing a narrow spot. This makes it well suited to general spot lighting over worktops, shelves and display areas where you want even coverage. For tightly focused accent lighting a narrower beam would be a better choice.
