Description

Small, softly curved and finished in sand white, this is a tidy way to put light on an outside wall without adding bulk. The body is only 68mm across, so it reads as a quiet block against brick or render rather than something demanding attention. A clear lens sits below, and a single GU10 lamp does the work, up to 50W. We would choose a warm white LED reflector at a front door, and something crisper where the light is simply helping you find a bin or a gate at night.

It suits porches, back doors, garden walls and the narrow passage down the side of a house, where a slim shape keeps the walkway clear. Sealed against dust and splashing water, it stands up to ordinary British weather in an exposed or sheltered spot. There is no switch on the body, so it works from a wall switch, a timer or a sensor circuit; dimming is possible provided the lamp you fit is dimmable. A pair either side of a door looks deliberate, and a repeated run along a boundary wall works well too.

The sand finish has a fine matt texture that shrugs off rain marks and fingerprints far better than gloss, and the clear lens keeps the light output honest. Give it a wipe with a damp cloth once the power is off and the lamp has gone cold, paying attention to cobwebs and grit around the lens, since those dull the beam long before the paint gives up. It carries a two year warranty. We stock the curved shape in sand black as well, plus a rectangle version in both colours, each available as a one or two lamp fitting, so you can match a run across a whole frontage.
