Description

A storage basket, 51cm tall, in soft grey. At 91cm wide it is wider than a standard interior door. The useful positions are the ones a cupboard cannot reach: beside a fireplace for logs, at the end of a sofa for throws, on a landing for the things that live between floors.

A cool colour recedes: it makes a piece read as further away and a room as larger, which is why cool tones suit small spaces better than their reputation for coldness suggests. It arrives as a set, which is worth knowing before you plan where it goes: a group needs a run of surface or floor rather than the single spot a lone piece would take. Rattan is a climbing palm, steamed and bent rather than cut and joined, which is why the curves are continuous and the whole piece weighs so little. Every length differs slightly in colour, so no two pieces match exactly. Supplied as a set of 3.

Check whether it holds its shape empty. A basket that slumps when nothing is in it will look untidy most of the time, because most of the time it will be half full.

Dusting is all it asks for, with a damp cloth on the finish and nothing solvent or abrasive.
