Description

The Timarne pendant light is a long, low LED fitting in black and brown. A row of overlapping black rings sits beneath a slim black steel bar that runs along a strip of warm brown wood, and the whole piece hangs on fine black cords from a matching rectangular ceiling canopy. It is 101cm long, 40cm wide and 110cm high overall. The light comes from integrated LEDs behind white plastic diffusers, rated 2 x 12.5W, with a colour temperature of 3000K for a warm white glow. Because the LEDs are integrated, there are no bulbs to buy or replace. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

We see it most at home over a dining table, where its length spreads light along the table rather than dropping a single pool in the middle. It works just as well over a long kitchen table. The wood strip picks up timber floors, worktops and furniture, while the black steel ties in with dark chairs, frames and table legs, so it sits comfortably in a modern room or a softer, natural scheme. The overlapping rings give the fitting a lighter look than a solid bar, which helps in a room where you still want to see across the table.

The body is steel and wood, and the diffusers are plastic. The light is dimmable, and there is no switch on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall. As a wired mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. It weighs 3.879KG packed. Before you order, check the overall height of 110cm against your ceiling so the rings hang at a comfortable height over the table.

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for dry rooms indoors, so keep it to spaces such as a dining room or living room, away from steam and splashing water.

Is the Timarne pendant dimmable?

Yes, the light is dimmable. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it is switched at the wall like a standard ceiling light.

What colour is the light?

The integrated LEDs have a colour temperature of 3000K, a warm white that glows through white plastic diffusers and suits a dining table in the evening.

How big is the pendant?

Does it need bulbs?

What materials are used?

The body is steel and wood, finished in black and brown, and the diffusers that cover the LEDs are white plastic.
