Description

Our Thuja pendant light is a white shade in the form of a tall bottle: a slim neck rising from broad shoulders that taper gently to a wide, open base. Fine thread is wound round a ribbed frame, so the surface has a soft, irregular, almost woven texture, and the ribs show faintly through as gentle vertical panels. It is made from polyester and iron, and the shade measures 32cm across and 54.5cm tall. That is a generous size, tall enough to hold its own in a room with a high ceiling and slim enough at the top to keep it from looking heavy.

Hang it over a dining table, where its open base points the light downward, or use it to bring a soft texture to a living room, bedroom or hallway. It hangs on 250cm of white cable, a generous length for a high ceiling or a stairwell, and the bottle shape looks as good from the side as it does from the foot of the stairs. It suits anyone who likes natural textures and quiet, pale rooms: linen, light wood, plaster walls and plenty of plants. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The shade takes a bulb with an E27 fitting, the common large screw fitting, at up to 40W, or up to 5W for an LED and 9W for a CFL.
