Description
The Terni Pro is a two-light recessed downlight in black, with a rectangular cast aluminium body set into the ceiling and two round lamp holders side by side. The holders are adjustable, so each beam can be angled towards the spot that needs it most. It measures 17.5cm long, 9.2cm wide and 12.5cm high, and it takes two GU10 bulbs, which are not included, so you choose the brightness and colour of light yourself. It runs from the mains at 220-240V, 50/60Hz.
We like a twin downlight like this wherever a single spotlight would leave a dark patch: over a dining table, along a hallway or above a favourite reading chair. Two beams from one fitting means one cut-out instead of two, and a neater, more ordered ceiling. The black finish gives a crisp, graphic line on a pale ceiling and pairs well with black door handles, picture frames and window frames. We would put it in living rooms, bedrooms, studies, hallways and landings, where you want light exactly where you sit, read or hang a picture.
The body is cast aluminium and the whole fitting weighs just 0.36KG; aluminium is a light metal that does not rust. It needs a cut-out of 16cm and a recess depth of 13.5cm in the ceiling void. There is no switch on the fitting itself, as it is switched at the wall like your other ceiling lights. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download that can be passed straight to whoever fits it. Measure the depth of your ceiling void first, pick two GU10 bulbs, and the rest is straightforward.
