Description
The TENAX 10-20W CCT Self-Test Emergency LED Gear Tray is a 235mm square aluminium LED module with adjustable wattage (10W, 15W or 20W), adjustable colour temperature (3000K, 4000K or 5700K) and integrated 3-hour self-test emergency lighting using a lithium iron phosphate battery. The tray fits Knightsbridge TENAX One and TENAX Quad bulkhead casings (sold separately) and is secured via four butterfly clips with push-fit terminal blocks for loop-in-loop-out wiring.
Designed for commercial, educational and residential corridor/stairwell installations requiring both maintained lighting and emergency backup, the self-test function automatically runs duration and function tests without manual intervention, simplifying compliance with BS 5266 and BS EN 50172. The tray operates in maintained, non-maintained or switched emergency modes depending on wiring configuration, delivering 125 lumens in emergency mode and between 1,360 and 2,630 lumens in normal operation depending on wattage and CCT selection.
The adjustable wattage and colour temperature reduce stock complexity by replacing nine separate SKUs with a single tray that can be configured on-site. The SMD LED array is rated to 40,000 hours L70B50 lifespan and achieves between 141 and 151 lumens per watt efficacy depending on settings. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments, and the Class II construction requires no earth connection. The tray measures 235mm square with a 28mm projection and carries a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What is self-test emergency and why does it matter?
Self-test emergency lighting automatically runs duration and function tests at scheduled intervals without manual intervention. This ensures compliance with BS 5266 and BS EN 50172 by verifying that the battery and LED array are operational, reducing the need for manual testing and simplifying maintenance records in commercial installations.
Does the tray include a casing?
No. The TENAX gear tray is sold separately from the casing. You need to purchase a compatible TENAX One or TENAX Quad casing separately. The tray clips into the casing via four butterfly clips and connects using push-fit terminals.
How are wattage and colour temperature adjusted?
Both wattage (10W, 15W or 20W) and colour temperature (3000K, 4000K or 5700K) are adjusted via switches on the gear tray before installation. Once set, the configuration remains fixed unless manually changed. This allows a single SKU to cover multiple project specifications.
What emergency modes does it support?
The tray operates in maintained (always on), non-maintained (only on during power failure) or switched emergency modes depending on how it is wired. In emergency mode it delivers 125 lumens for 3 hours using the integrated lithium iron phosphate battery.
