Description
The Talvera P is a small recessed LED downlight in white cast aluminium, with a clear glass shade in front of an integrated LED. It is 7.5cm across and 5.5cm tall, and it gives a warm white light at 2700K, the soft tone most people want in a living room or bedroom. Its rating is IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors and in dry rooms, on ceilings well away from bathrooms, showers and the outdoors.
Because it sits flush with the ceiling, a run of these downlights gives a room even, unfussy light with nothing hanging into the space. The inner reflector tilts, so you can angle the light towards a picture, a shelf or a favourite reading chair rather than only lighting the floor. We think it suits hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and studies, and anyone who wants a clean white ceiling with a warm, relaxed glow after dark.
Cast aluminium is light and strong, and the whole downlight weighs just 0.12KG. Two spring clips hold it firmly against the ceiling once it is pushed into place. There is no switch of its own: it is switched at the wall like any other ceiling light. The LEDs are replaceable, which means the light source can be renewed rather than the whole fitting. A wired-in downlight like this is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Before you buy, check the ceiling void: it needs a hole of 6.6 to 6.8cm and 6.5cm of clear depth above the ceiling.

Frequently Asked
Can the Talvera P go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which means it is for indoor, dry rooms only, so we would keep it away from bathrooms, showers and anywhere outdoors.
What size hole does this downlight need?
It needs a cut-out of 6.6 to 6.8cm in the ceiling, and 6.5cm of clear depth above the ceiling for the body of the downlight.
What colour is the light?
It gives a warm white light at 2700K, a soft and relaxed tone that suits living rooms, bedrooms and hallways in the evening.
Can the light be angled?
Yes. The inner reflector tilts, so you can aim the light at a wall, a picture or a shelf rather than only lighting the floor.
Can the LEDs be replaced?
Yes. The LEDs are integrated but replaceable, so the light source can be renewed without changing the whole downlight.
What material is the body?
The body is cast aluminium in a white finish, with a clear glass shade at the front, and the whole downlight weighs 0.12KG.
