Description
The Talvera P is a recessed LED downlight in a black finish, with a cast aluminium body, a slim round rim and a clear glass front over a faceted reflector that surrounds the LED. It measures 7.5cm across and 5.5cm tall, and it needs a ceiling hole of 6.6 to 6.8cm with 6.5cm of depth above the ceiling, so measure the void before you order. The LED is integrated and gives a warm white light at 2700K, the soft tone most of us want in the evening. It is rated IP20, which settles it as an indoor light for dry rooms.
A black downlight looks right in a dark or painted ceiling, in a kitchen with black handles and taps, or in a modern hallway where a white rim would catch the eye. Fit a row along a corridor, over a kitchen island or around the edge of a living room, and the warm light spreads in soft pools rather than one bright centre. There is no switch on the light itself, because it is switched at the wall like any other ceiling light. Keep it to dry indoor rooms such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and studies, never a bathroom or anywhere outside.
The body is cast aluminium and weighs just 0.12KG, and the spring clips on either side grip the ceiling board once it is pushed into place. The LEDs are replaceable, so the light source can be changed in future rather than the whole downlight. A recessed light like this is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download, which makes it easy to check the cut-out and recess depth before the job is booked.

Frequently Asked
Can I use this downlight in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry indoor rooms only; we would choose a living room, bedroom, hallway or study instead.
What size hole does it need?
It needs a cut-out of 6.6 to 6.8cm in the ceiling and 6.5cm of depth above it, while the round rim is 7.5cm across.
What colour is the light?
It gives a warm white light at 2700K, a soft and cosy tone that suits living rooms, bedrooms and anywhere you like to relax.
Can the LED be replaced?
Yes. The LED is built in, but it is replaceable, so it can be changed when the time comes rather than replacing the whole downlight.
Does it have its own switch?
No, there is no switch on the downlight itself. It is switched at the wall, just like any other ceiling light in the room.
What material and finish is the body?
The body is cast aluminium in a black finish, with a clear glass shade at the front, which suits dark ceilings and modern black fittings.
