Description

The Talvera P is a compact LED downlight that sits recessed into the ceiling, with a round cast aluminium body in satin nickel and a softly brushed, metallic look. It measures 7.5cm across and 5.5cm high, and its integrated LED sits deep inside a faceted reflector behind clear glass, giving a warm white light at 2700K. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms, well away from water and steam.

Warm white at 2700K suits the rooms where people unwind, so we would set a run of these into a living room, a bedroom or a hallway ceiling, or group a few above a dining table, wherever a clean ceiling and an even glow matter more than a hanging shade. The satin nickel ring reads as a quiet metallic detail once it is fitted, and it sits comfortably beside brushed steel, chrome and grey or white walls. Because the light is recessed, low ceilings stay clear, and the room's furniture and colours keep the attention.

The cast aluminium body weighs just 0.12KG, and the LEDs are replaceable, so a worn light source can be renewed without changing the whole downlight. There is no switch on the light itself, as it is switched at the wall. As a wired-in light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. Before ordering, check the ceiling void: it needs a recess depth of 6.5cm and a cut-out between 6.6 and 6.8cm wide.
