Description
The T8 LED Tube is a linear lamp built to replace a standard fluorescent tube, using the same G13 two-pin cap at each end. It draws just 9 W while putting out 900 lumens at a 4000K cool white tone, with a 200 degree beam that spreads light evenly along its length rather than focusing it in one spot. In US terms this is the LED equivalent of a T8 tube light, and at 9 W it stands in for a 65 W old tube, so the same fitting now runs on a fraction of the power. Colour rendering sits at Ra 80, which gives clean, neutral light for general work.
Its even, shadow-light output suits utility and work spaces such as garages, workshops, store rooms, plant rooms and under-shelf strip fittings, anywhere a long run of bright neutral light is wanted. The 200 degree beam means the light is thrown across a wide arc rather than thrown to a distance, washing a bench, aisle or worktop below it. With an IP20 rating it is for dry indoor use only, so keep it out of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp location. Run several in line down a longer space for continuous illumination over a workbench or storage run.
The tube measures Ø28 by 28 mm and weighs 96 g, running on 220 to 240 V AC mains through its G13 end caps. Rated for 20,000 hours, it is non-dimmable, so pair it with a standard switched circuit rather than a dimmer. Depending on the existing fitting, an LED-ready tube of this kind may need the starter removed or the ballast bypassed, so check the gear before installing. The finish is white and the tone is fixed at 4000K cool white. The wider range covers further LED lamp caps and shapes for other fittings.

Frequently Asked
What fitting does this tube need?
It uses a G13 cap, the standard two-pin connection found on a T8 fluorescent tube fitting. It locates and twists into the same end holders, so it suits batten and strip fittings designed for a T8 tube of matching length.
What old tube wattage does it replace?
The LED itself draws only 9 W, yet it gives the light of a 65 W tube while producing 900 lumens. That means a clear cut in running power for the same level of brightness on the bench or floor below.
Do I need to change anything in the fitting before installing it?
Many existing fluorescent fittings have a starter and a ballast that an LED tube does not use. Depending on the fitting you may need to remove the starter or bypass the ballast, so check the manufacturer guidance for the fixture before fitting the tube.
Is it dimmable, and what colour is the light?
No, this tube is non-dimmable and should run on a standard switched circuit rather than a dimmer. The light is fixed at 4000K cool white with Ra 80 colour rendering, giving a clean neutral tone for workshops and utility spaces.
