T8 LED Tube 22W 192W-eq G13 - Daylight

This T8 LED tube is a direct linear replacement for an old fluorescent tube, fitting the standard G13 bi-pin cap at each end. It draws 22W and gives 3300 lumens of 6500K daylight, a crisp, cool tone that reads as bright white. The wide 220 degree beam spreads light evenly along the length of the fitting rather than concentrating it, so the run is lit consistently from end to end. In US terms a G13 linear lamp like this is the familiar T8 tube light, and at 150 lm/W it delivers far more light per watt than the tube it stands in for.

Daylight tubes at 6500K suit places that need clear, neutral visibility for work and inspection: garages, workshops, storerooms, utility rooms, kitchens and similar indoor spaces fitted with linear battens or troffers. The light spreads the full length of the housing, so coverage follows the fitting rather than throwing in one direction, which is why these tubes are run end to end across a ceiling. This is an indoor lamp only. With an IP20 rating it must be kept out of damp, wet and outdoor positions, away from bathrooms, sheltered porches and any location exposed to moisture.

The lamp is a T8 LED in a linear white housing measuring 28mm in diameter, weighing 210g and running on 220-240V AC. As a tube-replacement lamp it carries a CRI of Ra 80 for accurate enough colour in working areas, and is rated for 30,000 hours of use. It is a non-dimmable tube, so pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer. What fitting does this tube use?

It has a G13 bi-pin cap at each end, the standard fitting for a T8 linear tube. It drops straight into an existing G13 batten or troffer in place of an old fluorescent tube of the same length.

What old tube wattage does it replace?

The LED itself draws only 22W but gives 3300 lumens, enough to replace an old 192W fluorescent tube. You get the same usable brightness for a fraction of the running power.

Do I need to remove the starter or change anything in the fitting?

Depending on the existing gear, the starter may need removing or the magnetic ballast bypassing. Follow the supplied installation guidance for your fitting type before powering it on.

Is this tube dimmable?

No, this is a non-dimmable tube. Use it on a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer, as fitting it to a dimmer circuit can cause flicker or shorten its life.
