Description
This T8 LED tube is a direct replacement for the old linear fluorescent tube, fitted on the standard G13 two-pin cap. It draws just 12W yet puts out 2220 lumens, so it stands in for a 137W fluorescent tube while using a fraction of the power. The light is a crisp 6500K daylight tone with a 200 degree beam spread, throwing an even wash of bright, neutral white along its length rather than a narrow spot. Many of these tubes ask for the existing starter to be removed and the fitting wired as a ballast-bypass, so check the gear in your batten before installing.
Its daylight output suits places where clear, functional light matters more than warmth: garages, workshops, utility rooms, store cupboards, stairwells and back-of-house areas. The wide 200 degree spread spills light across a working surface or down a corridor instead of pooling under a single point, which makes it a sensible choice over a bench, a workbench or a run of shelving. Being rated IP20, it is for dry indoor use only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, damp utility corners and any outdoor or sheltered-outdoor spot. With 185 lm/W efficiency it is well suited to areas that stay switched on for long stretches.
The tube measures 28mm in diameter and runs on 220 to 240V AC mains through the G13 cap. It carries a CRI of Ra 80 for honest enough colour in a task or storage space, and a rated lifespan of 40,000 hours to limit how often you are back up a ladder. The light source is integrated T8 LED in a white linear body, and the tube is non-dimmable, so it should be run on a standard non-dimming circuit. We stock this tube alongside other caps and shapes in the LED bulb range to cover most older fittings.

Frequently Asked
Which fitting does this tube need?
It uses the G13 cap, the standard two-pin base found on T8 linear fluorescent tubes. It is sized to drop into the same battens and fittings that took the old fluorescent tubes.
What does the 12W tube replace?
The tube draws only 12W itself but gives 2220 lumens, which is the equivalent of a 137W fluorescent tube. You get the same useful light for a small fraction of the running cost.
Do I need to change anything in the fitting before installing it?
Many T8 LED tubes require the original starter to be removed and the fitting wired as a ballast-bypass to work correctly. Check your batten's gear and follow the wiring guidance before fitting, and have any wiring done by a competent person.
Is this tube dimmable?
No, it is non-dimmable and should be run on a standard non-dimming circuit. Pairing it with a dimmer can cause flicker or shorten its rated 40,000 hour life.
