Description

The Textile Cable Swan Neck 12mm is a curved arm that screws to a ceiling or wall plate at one end and takes a lampholder at the other. A chrome tube bent through a right angle, with a straight arm on one side and a long drop on the other, so a flex can be carried out from a wall or a ceiling and turned down. A small round chrome flange sits on the top of the bend where it fixes, and a plain sleeve finishes each open end. The metal is polished to a mirror brightness and picks up long highlights down the bend. There is nothing electrical visible on it at all. It is a plain part, sized to take a cord neatly round a corner. The arm is a swan neck: it takes a lampholder at one end and screws to a ceiling plate at the other. It measures 7.5cm tall, in metal.

It puts the lamp out from the wall or the ceiling rather than flat against it, so the light clears whatever is beneath. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.

It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.
