Description

The Surf is a 1.42m LED floor lamp built around a slender upright column of satin nickel and polished chrome, topped with a white acrylic diffuser that houses an integrated 23W LED strip. The lamp is controlled by a touch-sensitive dimmer on the column, allowing stepless adjustment from full 1590lm output down to a low ambient glow without needing a separate dimmer switch.

Designed as task and ambient lighting for living rooms, bedrooms and home offices, the Surf sits on a 200mm square base that provides stability on hard floors and short-pile rugs without occupying significant floor area. The angled column leans at approximately 10 degrees from vertical, positioning the light source forward of the base footprint to reduce shadowing when the lamp is placed behind a sofa or beside a reading chair. The 3000K warm white colour temperature pairs with incandescent and halogen lighting in traditional interiors while maintaining enough output for functional task use.

The satin nickel column contrasts with polished chrome accents at the base and head, giving the lamp a two-tone metallic finish that reflects ambient light without creating glare. The white acrylic diffuser prevents direct LED visibility and spreads the 1590lm output across a wider distribution pattern than a bare strip would provide. How does the touch dimmer work?

The dimmer is integrated into the column. Touch and hold the sensor to adjust brightness steplessly from full output down to a low glow. Release when the desired brightness is reached. The lamp remembers the last setting when switched off and on again.

Is the LED replaceable?

Will it work on carpet or rugs?

The 200mm square base provides stability on hard floors and short-pile rugs. On thick or deep-pile carpet the lamp may benefit from a firmer footing such as a small rug pad or placement where the base sits partially on bare floor.
