Description

The quiet half of any dimmed LED scheme, this is the control gear rather than the light itself: a slim white disc, round and shallow, made to sit tucked away where nobody looks. It works with both DALI and push dimming, so it will take its cue from a DALI control line or from an ordinary retractive switch on the wall. That dual ability is the reason we keep it in stock. It means one part can serve a whole-house control scheme or a single dimmed circuit in one room, without you having to decide which world you are in before you buy.

Its 10W output suits modest LED loads, which in practice means small recessed fittings and compact downlights rather than long runs or big arrays. We would use it with the recessed bases from the same range, where a low-profile driver is far easier to live with than a bulky box. Anyone specifying dimmable lighting in a kitchen, hallway or bedroom will find it does the job without fuss, and installers who work with DALI as a matter of course will recognise it straight away. It is rated for dry indoor positions, so keep it away from bathroom zones and anywhere damp.

The casing is white and unfussy, measuring roughly 14cm across, with a depth kept low so it takes up very little room. There is nothing to polish and nothing to see once the job is done; if it ever needs attention, isolate the circuit first and lift dust away with a dry brush or cloth rather than anything wet. It carries a three year warranty. The wider Sunset range runs to recessed bases in a spread of sizes and cut-outs, offered in white, black and gold, so the driver can be specified alongside whichever of those suits the ceiling you are working to.
