Description

This is the power supply behind an LED fitting rather than a light in its own right: a slim white disc, round and low in profile, rated for up to 40W of LED load. It works with both DALI and push dimming, so it can sit within an addressable control system or be dimmed from an ordinary retractive switch.

We keep it alongside the Sunset recessed bases, where the driver runs the light rather than being built into it. That makes it a sensible choice for a run of recessed fittings in a hallway, kitchen or open living space, and particularly useful where the lighting is dimmed as part of a wider control scheme. Electricians tend to reach for a dual-protocol driver like this one when a project uses DALI in some rooms and push dimming in others, since one item covers both.

The casing is white and measures 14cm across, shallow in section and light in the hand. Keep it dry and clear of dust, and if it does need attention, isolate the circuit before wiping the housing over with a dry cloth. It is intended for dry interior positions and offers no protection against splashing or damp air, so a covered utility cupboard suits it far better than an exposed spot. It carries a three year warranty. The rest of the Sunset range is made up of recessed bases in a series of cut-out sizes and in black, gold or white, so the driver can be paired with whichever base and finish the room calls for. No lamp or fitting is supplied with the driver itself.
