Description
This is an outdoor cushion carrying the Strawberry Thief design, the William Morris pattern first produced in 1883, printed here on a sunny yellow ground. The front is dense with the pattern: pairs of thrushes facing one another, ripe berries, and open flowers in indigo, soft blue and green threaded through pale scrolling foliage. The reverse is a plain green, and a matching green piped trim runs the whole way round the edge. It measures 50cm by 50cm, a generous square that fills the corner of a chair rather than getting lost in it.
Because the fabric is water-resistant, this cushion is made for outside rather than being an indoor one pressed into service. It suits a garden bench, a set of patio chairs or a covered seating area where a shower might catch it. The yellow and green reads brightly against natural wood and terracotta pots, and it works alongside the other colourways in the same design if you want to build up a mix of florals rather than a matched pair. Keep it out for alfresco dining or a quiet afternoon with a book, and bring it in when the weather turns properly wet or the season ends.
The cover is 100% polyester, which is why it copes with damp and dries back quickly rather than holding water the way a natural fibre would; it is also easy to wipe down after a meal outdoors. A discreet zip along one edge closes the cover, so the insert can come out. The piped edge gives the cushion a defined, finished border and helps it hold its square shape on a seat. The Strawberry Thief pattern is offered in more than one ground colour, so this Sunflower version can stand on its own or sit within a wider set.

Frequently Asked
Can this cushion be left outside?
The fabric is water-resistant, so it handles the odd shower and outdoor damp better than an ordinary indoor cushion. We would still bring it in during heavy or prolonged rain and over winter.
What is the Strawberry Thief design?
It is a William Morris pattern first produced in 1883, showing thrushes among strawberries and flowers. This version is printed on a sunflower yellow ground with green and indigo detail.
How big is the cushion?
It measures 50cm by 50cm, a square that fills the corner of a garden chair or bench well and sits comfortably against your back.
Does the cover come off?
Yes, there is a discreet zip fastening along one edge, so you can take the cover off the insert when you need to.
What does the reverse look like?
The back is a plain green with a matching green piped trim running round the edge, so it looks tidy whichever way the cushion is turned.
