Starda 8 Light Smoked Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Starda is a 500mm square flush ceiling light built around eight G9 bulb positions arranged within a polished chrome frame and central mirrored panel. Smoked crystal prisms hang in tiered clusters from the chrome base, creating depth and visual texture as the light refracts through the tinted crystal. The 190mm overall height keeps the fitting close to the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with 2.4m ceiling heights where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls where decorative impact is needed without losing headroom, the Starda provides both ambient light and architectural detail. The eight G9 sockets allow for significant brightness — up to 264W total if using maximum-rated halogen bulbs, or a more typical 40-64W when paired with LED G9 equivalents. The flush-mount design means no chain or rod extends below the ceiling plate, so the fitting projects just 190mm into the room.

The smoked crystal prisms are darker than clear crystal, filtering and softening the light rather than producing the sharp sparkle of clear-cut crystal. This gives the Starda a more subdued, architectural presence compared to traditional crystal chandeliers. The polished chrome base and central mirrored section reflect the surrounding room and amplify the layered depth of the crystal arrangement. At 5kg the fitting requires secure fixing into a joist or ceiling-rated fixpoint, not just plasterboard alone.

What bulbs does the Starda take?

The fitting takes eight G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Each socket is rated up to 33W, but most users pair the Starda with LED G9 bulbs between 5-8W and 2700K-3000K for warm white light. Using eight 6W LED bulbs gives around 48W total consumption and approximately 3,600 lumens output.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 190mm projection from ceiling to lowest point makes the Starda suitable for rooms with 2.4m ceiling heights, where a traditional pendant or chandelier would hang too low and create headroom issues.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is compatible with dimming, but you must use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch rated for LED if using LED bulbs. Not all G9 LED bulbs support dimming, so check bulb specifications before purchasing.

How is the Starda installed on the ceiling?

At 5kg the fitting requires secure fixing into a ceiling joist or a ceiling-rated fixpoint capable of supporting the weight. The chrome backplate conceals the electrical connection and mounts flush to the ceiling surface. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
