Starda 5 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Starda is a 400mm square flush ceiling light with five G9 bulb holders arranged within a polished chrome frame, surrounded by cascading cut-crystal prisms that hang from the central cluster. A mirrored chrome backplate sits against the ceiling, reflecting the crystal facets and amplifying light dispersion across the room. The 180mm total drop keeps the fitting close to the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with standard or lower ceiling heights.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms and bathrooms with 2.3-2.6m ceiling heights where a chandelier drop would be impractical, the Starda provides decorative crystal lighting without requiring significant vertical clearance. The five G9 bulbs (sold separately) allow individual control over brightness by choosing halogen or LED variants between 3W-33W per bulb. The fitting is dimmable when paired with appropriate dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.

Each crystal prism is individually faceted to catch and refract light from multiple angles, creating a dispersed glow rather than focused beams. The mirrored backplate doubles this effect by reflecting both the crystals and their light output back into the room. The polished chrome frame provides structural contrast to the transparent crystal elements, giving definition to the edges of the fitting when viewed from below. At 4.3kg, the fitting requires a secure ceiling mounting point and appropriate fixings for plasterboard or solid ceilings.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Starda takes five G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W in warm white (2700K-3000K) for lower running costs and reduced heat output compared to halogen.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 180mm total drop from ceiling to the lowest crystal makes this flush fitting suitable for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.6m, where a standard pendant or chandelier would hang too low.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself supports dimming, but requires dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all G9 LEDs dim smoothly — check bulb specifications before pairing with a dimmer.

How is it cleaned?

Turn off power at the mains. Wipe the chrome frame with a dry microfibre cloth. For the crystal prisms, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water if needed, then dry immediately to avoid water spots. Avoid sprays or chemical cleaners on the mirrored backplate.
