Description

The Solisca is a 30cm diameter flush ceiling light with an integrated 17W LED module emitting 3000K warm white light through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The matt black metal housing sits almost flat against the ceiling with minimal projection, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low. The same fitting can be mounted on a wall as a wide-area wall light.

Designed for hallways, corridors, bathrooms (IP20 zones only), kitchens and bedrooms where general ambient light is needed without a decorative statement piece, the Solisca provides even, shadow-free illumination across a 3-4m room. The flush-mount installation requires connection to standard UK mains wiring inside a ceiling rose or wall back box, with the metal baseplate screwing directly to the mounting surface and the opal diffuser clipping into place over the LED module.

The concentric ring design creates a visual layering effect when lit, with the central reflective disc directing light outward through the opal polycarbonate ring. The matt black finish on the metal housing absorbs rather than reflects ambient daylight, preventing glare in rooms with large windows. The non-dimmable 17W LED is rated for 25,000+ hours of use, equivalent to approximately 11 years at 6 hours per day, reducing the frequency of replacement compared to traditional bulb-based fittings.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Solisca is suitable for bathroom zones outside the immediate shower or bath area (Zone 3 and beyond). It cannot be installed directly above a bath or inside a shower enclosure.

Is the LED replaceable?

The 17W LED module is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for 25,000+ hours, which equates to approximately 11 years of use at 6 hours per day.

What ceiling height does it suit?

Flush ceiling lights work best in rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant fitting would hang too low. The Solisca projects less than 50mm from the ceiling surface, making it suitable for low-ceiling flats, conversions and loft spaces.

Can it be mounted on a wall?

Yes. The same fitting can be installed on a wall as a wide-area wall light, typically positioned 1.8-2m above floor level to provide general illumination in hallways or corridor spaces.
