Description

The Solden is a vertical outdoor wall light with an integrated 9W LED producing 762 lumens at 3000K through a frosted polycarbonate diffuser, framed by a dark grey powder-coated aluminium housing. The housing angles outward at the top, creating a small overhang that directs light downward while shielding the diffuser from direct rainfall and reducing water pooling on the face of the fitting.

Designed for mounting next to front doors, garage entrances, garden pathways and patio walls, the Solden provides functional ambient light across a 118° beam angle without creating harsh downward pools. The IP65 rating protects the internal LED module and driver from rain, dust and directed jets of water, making the fitting suitable for fully exposed exterior walls. The compact 90mm width and 180mm height suit standard-width doorframes and narrow wall sections where a wider fitting would overpower the architecture.

The dark grey powder-coated finish resists UV degradation and provides a neutral backdrop against brick, render, painted timber and stone. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light that balances visibility with a less clinical appearance than cooler 4000K or 5000K fittings. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and runs on standard mains voltage, with the driver housed inside the fitting and accessed via a rear plate fixed to the mounting surface.

Is the Solden suitable for exposed coastal locations?

The IP65 rating protects against rain and dust, and the powder-coated aluminium resists general weathering. In coastal locations with salt spray, periodic rinsing with fresh water will help maintain the finish over the long term.

Can this be installed horizontally instead of vertically?

The fitting is designed for vertical mounting with the angled top section positioned uppermost to shed water. Horizontal installation would reduce the water-shedding effectiveness and may allow pooling on the diffuser.
