Description

The Sochi is an asymmetric outdoor wall light with a curved sand white shell housing an integrated 6W LED that casts light in two directions from the same fitting. The asymmetric curve projects forward from the wall at 55mm and sends 660 lumens of 3000K warm white light both upward and downward across the mounting surface at a 120° beam angle.

Designed for residential patios, garden walls, porch entrances and pathway lighting, the Sochi provides functional illumination without glare directly into the eye line. The dual-direction output lights the wall surface above and below the fitting, creating a glow zone rather than a single spotlight effect. The IP54 rating protects the internal LED and driver from rain and dust ingress, making the fitting suitable for exposed external walls in the UK climate.

The sand white powder-coated aluminium body measures 110mm wide by 150mm tall with a compact 55mm projection from the wall, giving enough depth for the curved profile without extending far into a pathway or seating zone. The non-dimmable 6W LED runs on standard 230V mains and does not require external driver units or additional control gear. The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white spectrum, matching incandescent and halogen sources commonly used in outdoor residential lighting.

The sand white shell reflects a little more light than a dark finish, which can lift the wash on the wall around the fitting. Because the LED and driver sit within the sealed IP54 housing, there are no loose components to fit at installation, and the 0.5kg weight allows fixing with standard wall plugs on most external substrates.

Is the Sochi suitable for coastal or exposed locations?

The IP54 rating provides protection against dust and splashing water, making it suitable for most UK residential outdoor applications including patios and covered porches. For fully exposed coastal locations with salt spray, an IP65 or higher rating would be more appropriate.

Can the light be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and runs at a fixed 6W output when powered on.

How is the fitting wired?

The Sochi connects directly to 230V mains via a rear entry point in the backplate. A qualified electrician should install the fitting, as it requires a fixed electrical connection rather than a plug-in supply.

What spacing is recommended for pathway lighting?

For continuous pathway lighting, position Sochi wall lights approximately 2-3 metres apart on a boundary wall or fence at 1.5-1.8m height. This spacing provides overlapping pools of light without creating dark gaps between fittings.
