Description
This SMD LED strip lights up as a flexible 5 metre reel of spaced SMD diodes, giving a continuous line of RGB colour for accent and feature lighting. It draws up to 7.2W per metre and runs on 12V DC. Known in the US as led tape light or a light strip, it suits cove, shelf and under-cabinet runs where you want a low-profile line of colour rather than a single bright source.
Use it indoors only, as the IP00 rating means it must stay dry and away from any damp, splashes or outdoor exposure. The RGB output is best treated as decorative accent rather than ambient room lighting, so think of it as a way to outline a kitchen plinth, a stair edge, a TV unit or a display niche. Mount it along a clean, dry surface using the self-adhesive backing, keeping it out of bathrooms, porches and gardens. Colour changing means you can match the strip to a mood or a room scheme through a controller.
The reel is cut-to-length at the marked intervals, so a 5 metre run can be trimmed to fit a shorter span without waste. Being a 12V DC strip, it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 12V LED driver, which is supplied separately and should be sized to the total wattage of the length you install. Rated for around 15,000 hours, the diodes sit on a slim flexible reel measuring 10mm wide. We also stand the matching 12V drivers and controllers in the range to complete the install.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 12V LED driver, supplied separately. Size the driver to the total wattage of the length you are running, allowing 7.2W for every metre installed.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The reel can be trimmed to suit your run, but only at the marked cut points along its length. Cutting elsewhere will damage the circuit, so always cut on the indicated interval.
Can I use this strip outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP00, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, gardens and any damp or splash-prone areas, as it has no protection against moisture.
How do I change the colours?
The strip is RGB, so colour is set through a compatible RGB controller wired between the driver and the reel. This lets you switch tones or set a fixed colour to match a room scheme.
