Description
These SMD LED strip lights put a line of spaced surface-mount diodes on a flexible 5 metre reel, giving 4.8W and 450 lumens per metre in a crisp 6500K daylight tone. Sold as led tape in the US, the strip runs on 12V DC, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver (supplied separately) rather than plugging straight into the mains. It cuts to length only at the marked points along the reel, letting the run be sized to the job, and the IP65 coating seals it against damp and weather.
Because the IP65 rating makes it weatherproof, this strip suits exposed outdoor and wet positions as well as kitchens and bathrooms: think under-cabinet task runs, cove and ceiling perimeters, deck and step edges, eaves, pergolas and garden outlines. The light is a continuous grazing line rather than ambient room lighting, so it works best for accent, outline and indirect detail rather than lighting a whole room. The daylight colour reads bright and clean, which keeps worktops, shelving and signage looking sharp.
The diodes sit on a flexible self-adhesive backing that bends around corners and follows shaped runs, with a Ra 80 colour rendering and a rated life of around 15,000 hours. The IP65 coating handles splashes, dust and direct outdoor exposure, while the 12V DC supply keeps it safe and low voltage once paired with the correct driver. Wipe the surface clean with a soft dry cloth. Matching drivers and connectors are available across our LED strip range to size and join your run.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it must be paired with a matching 12V LED driver rather than wired straight to the mains. The driver is supplied separately, sized to the total wattage of the length you use, at 4.8W per metre.
Can it be cut to length?
Yes. The strip cuts only at the marked cut points along the 5 metre reel, so you can trim it to fit the run. Cutting anywhere other than the marks will leave a dead section.
Is it suitable for outdoor and wet locations?
Yes. The IP65 rating makes it weatherproof, so it can be used in exposed outdoor positions, bathrooms and other damp areas. Keep the cut ends sealed and use a suitably rated driver for outdoor installations.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the coated surface with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth to remove dust. Avoid solvents and harsh cleaners, which can damage the IP65 coating over time.
