Description
This SMD LED strip puts spaced SMD diodes along a flexible 5m reel, giving a colour-changing RGB line for accent and outline lighting. Known to many US buyers as LED tape light, it draws up to 14.4W per metre and runs on 12V DC, so it pairs with a matching LED driver rather than plugging straight into the mains. The reel cuts to length at the marked points, letting the run be sized to the space it lights. RGB output covers a broad spread of colour rather than a single fixed white tone.
Use it to pick out coves, under cabinets, shelf edges, stair lines, decking borders and signage. Because it is decorative accent lighting rather than ambient room light, judge it by the effect it creates along an edge or surface, not by floor coverage. The IP65 rating means it copes with damp and exposed outdoor locations, so it suits patios, garden features and sheltered façades as readily as a kitchen plinth or media wall indoors.
Built on a flexible reel measuring 5m, the strip carries an IP65 weatherproof coating for wet and outdoor use. It needs a separate 12V DC LED driver, sized to the total wattage of the run, which is sold separately unless supplied as part of a kit. Cut only at the marked intervals, then connect and route as the layout requires. Rated for 15,000 hours, the RGB output is controlled through a compatible controller for static colours or dynamic effects. Drivers and connectors from the wider range can be specified to complete the install.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, so it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 12V LED driver, sized to the total wattage of your run. The driver is sold separately unless supplied as part of a kit.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes. The 5m reel cuts to size at the marked cut points only, so you can trim it to fit a shelf, cove or border. Cutting between the marked points will damage the strip.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. With an IP65 rating it is weatherproof and copes with damp and exposed outdoor locations such as patios, decking edges and garden features, as well as indoor runs.
How do I change the colours?
The RGB output is driven through a compatible RGB controller, which lets you set static colours or run dynamic colour-changing effects. The controller is specified alongside the driver to suit the length of the run.
