Description
This SMD LED strip puts spaced SMD diodes along a flexible reel, giving a bright continuous line of warm white 3000K light at 11W per metre and around 900 lumens per metre. It is what many call LED tape or a light strip, and it cuts to length at marked points every 5cm so a run can be sized exactly to the space. The strip runs on a 12V DC supply rather than straight from the mains, so it pairs with a matching 12V LED driver, sold separately, to power the length you install.
Coated to IP65, the strip suits both indoor and damp or sheltered outdoor positions, from under-cabinet and cove runs to outline lighting on eaves, steps and garden structures. Throw is short and even along the reel rather than projected, so it works as a hidden grazing line that washes a surface with warm light. With strong Ra90 colour rendering, the warm tone stays true on timber, stone and painted finishes, making it a tidy choice for kitchens, hallways and outdoor patios alike.
Each 5m reel carries the diodes on a flexible backing that bends around corners and follows kerbs or shelf edges, while the IP65 coating shields it from moisture and dust. The strip is cuttable only at the printed 5cm intervals, and joining or extending a run is straightforward with the right connectors. Powered at 12V DC through a separate driver, it draws 11W per metre and is rated for around 30,000 hours. We stock matching drivers and connectors across the range to complete the install.

Frequently Asked
Does this LED strip need a driver?
Yes. It runs on 12V DC, not mains voltage, so it needs a matching 12V LED driver sized to the total length you fit. The driver is sold separately, and its wattage rating should comfortably exceed the strip's 11W per metre draw across your run.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes, it cuts to length every 5cm at the marked points along the reel. Cutting anywhere other than those points will damage the section, so always cut on the printed line. Offcuts can usually be rejoined into a run with the correct connectors.
Is it suitable for outdoor or damp use?
Yes. The strip is rated IP65, so it is coated against moisture and dust and works in exposed outdoor and wet locations as well as indoors. That makes it suitable for patios, eaves and bathrooms as well as kitchens and hallways.
How do I keep the strip clean?
Wipe the coated surface gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and let it dry before powering it back on. Avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners, which can mark the IP65 coating. Switch the supply off at the driver before cleaning any outdoor runs.
