Description

An arch mirror, 120cm by 90cm, in brushed gold. The arch borrows from a window, which is why it softens a wall the way a real opening would and why it suits a hallway or a bathroom where a rectangle would read as flat. At 120cm wide it is wider than a standard interior door. A mirror does most for a room when it faces something worth doubling — a window, a lamp, a view down a hallway. Opposite a blank wall it only doubles the blank wall.

Warm metals show fingerprints far less than a polished cool finish, because the tone is closer to the oils that leave them. What they do show, eventually, is a gentle darkening at the places most often handled. Steel carries a load through a thinner section than any timber can, which is why a steel frame can look this light and still not flex. Powder-coated, it takes a knock as a chip rather than a dent.

It hangs on a triangle. One hook, one fixing, and the piece finds its own level — which is the advantage. Choose a hook rated comfortably above the weight rather than exactly at it, because a picture hook rated to the gram is a hook at its limit.
