Slice Glass Pendant Light - Copper Ombre

The Slice is a single-bulb glass pendant light with a teardrop-shaped shade that fades from polished copper at the top to clear glass at the open base. The shade measures 18cm in diameter and 30cm in height, suspended from a 150cm braided black cable with a matt black ceiling rose and lampholder. A single E27 bulb sits inside the shade (sold separately).

The ombre finish behaves differently depending on whether the bulb is on or off. Unlit, the upper half acts as a mirror, reflecting the room and surrounding light in warm rose-copper tones. Once switched on, the clear lower section directs light downwards over the surface beneath while the copper section glows from within, giving both task light and a warm reflected halo on nearby walls or ceilings.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and bedside positions, the slim 18cm diameter means three or four units can be hung in a row above a 1.8-2.4m island without crowding. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.3m upwards. The matt black ceiling cup pairs the warm copper tones with a contemporary industrial-edge fixing rather than a brass or chrome canopy.

Pair the Slice with a clear or amber E27 candle filament bulb to make the most of the transparent base — the visible filament becomes part of the fixture's appearance when lit. A frosted bulb softens the light spread but hides the filament detail.

What bulb does it take, and is one included?

The Slice takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. A clear or amber E27 candle filament bulb works particularly well because the filament remains visible through the clear lower section of the glass.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The 150cm braided cable can be shortened on installation to suit the ceiling height and the position you want the pendant to hang at. Above an island or dining table the shade typically sits 700-800mm above the surface.

Can multiple Slice pendants be hung in a row?

Yes. The 18cm shade diameter is slim enough that three or four Slice pendants can be hung side by side above a 1.8-2.4m kitchen island or dining table. Each pendant ships as an individual unit with its own ceiling rose, so installation requires either separate ceiling outlets or a multi-outlet ceiling plate (sold separately).

How is the copper glass cleaned?

The copper-effect coating sits on the inside of the glass and the outer surface is plain glass. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with a small amount of standard glass cleaner is acceptable on the outer surface only — avoid abrasive cloths and do not soak the shade.
