Description

The Sisessa is a round recessed LED downlight with a black plastic body and a white frosted plastic diffuser. It measures 11.7cm across and only 3.1cm high, a slim profile that suits ceilings with little depth, and it needs a ceiling cut-out of 10 to 11cm. The LED is integrated and gives 825 lumens of cool light at 4000K, a crisp, clear light for rooms where you need to see properly. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

That cool white tone suits kitchens, home offices, hallways, landings and utility rooms, where clear light helps with cooking, reading and sorting the laundry. Set out in a row or a grid, several downlights give an even spread across a ceiling without a pendant hanging into the room. The black trim is what sets it apart: against a dark ceiling, or alongside black handles, switches and door furniture, it looks like a considered detail rather than a plain white disc. Keep it to dry rooms; with its IP20 rating it is not suited to bathrooms, porches or anywhere outdoors.

There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it is switched at the wall, and it runs on mains power at 220 to 240V, 50/60Hz. It needs no separate driver, and the LED can be replaced by a specialist, so a tired light source need not mean a new downlight. Two spring clips on the body hold it firmly in the ceiling, and it weighs just 0.05KG. It carries energy class E. A wired-in light like this is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. Before ordering, measure any existing holes: a cut-out between 10 and 11cm will take it.
