Description

The Knightsbridge NCLB16 is a 1828mm (6ft) single T8 LED-ready batten fitting in an IP65-rated grey polycarbonate housing with a prismatic diffuser. The fitting is pre-wired for direct connection to dedicated self-ballasted T8 LED tubes, with no internal ballast or driver that could fail or limit future tube compatibility.

Designed for industrial, commercial and agricultural environments where dust ingress and water jets are common, the IP65 rating provides full protection against solid particles and low-pressure water jets from any direction. Typical installations include warehouses, workshops, car parks, cold stores, agricultural sheds and external covered walkways. The polycarbonate body and diffuser resist impacts that would crack glass or acrylic alternatives, making the fitting suitable for areas with forklift traffic, overhead material handling or sports facility use.

The prismatic diffuser distributes light evenly along the 1828mm run while minimising glare, providing general overhead illumination for wide bays and narrow corridors. The fitting measures 94mm wide and projects 90mm from the ceiling or wall when surface-mounted, with end-entry cable access for concealed wiring. Class I earthing is required. The LED tube itself determines lumen output, colour temperature and dimming compatibility, with most installers pairing this fitting with 18-24W 4000K cool-white T8 LEDs for commercial spaces.

No. The fitting is sold without a tube. It accepts any standard 6ft T8 LED tube with a built-in driver (self-ballasted). Typical installations use 18-24W T8 LEDs rated for direct 230V connection.

IP65 provides full protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. The fitting can be hosed down, used in dusty warehouses, cold stores and outdoor covered areas, but is not submersible.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the T8 LED tube fitted. Most standard T8 LEDs are non-dimmable, but specific dimmable T8 tubes are available and will work with compatible mains dimmer switches if paired correctly.

Is it suitable for ceiling or wall mounting?

Both. The fitting can be surface-mounted on ceilings or walls using the fixing points on the polycarbonate back plate. Cable entry is via end-caps, which suits both vertical and horizontal installation.
