Description

The Simply is a matt black floor lamp from Ideal Lux built around an adjustable articulated arm and a single E27 bulb fitting inside a conical metal shade. The arm pivots at a central elbow joint and the shade tilts on a collar mount, allowing the light to be directed down onto a reading surface, across a desk, or up onto a wall as wash light. The shade interior is finished in white enamel to reflect and intensify the bulb output.

Designed as task lighting for reading corners, home offices and beside sofas where directed light is needed without a fixed ceiling fitting, the Simply sits on a weighted circular base with a 900mm diameter footprint. The arm extends to approximately 1200mm when fully extended, giving a wide arc of coverage from a single floor position. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor rooms only.

The metal frame and shade are finished in a low-sheen matt black that minimises reflections under daylight and pairs cleanly with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors. The lamp accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the maximum wattage specified in the table below (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose the light temperature and brightness that suits the room. Ideal Lux backs the Simply with a 5-year warranty.

What bulb does it take?

The Simply takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading or task lighting.

Can the arm and head be adjusted?

Yes. The arm pivots at a central elbow joint, and the shade tilts on a collar mount at the top of the arm. This allows the light to be angled towards a reading position, a desk surface, or up onto a wall.

Is it suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the Simply is designed for dry indoor rooms only. It is not protected against moisture or dust ingress and should not be used in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or outdoors.

What is the base diameter?

The circular base has a 900mm diameter footprint, providing stability on bare floors and short-pile rugs without needing additional weighting.
