Sileras LED Flush Ceiling Light 60cm - White

The Sileras is a round LED flush ceiling light with a softly domed white shade that sits close to the ceiling on a slim white steel body. It measures 60cm across and 8.5cm deep, so it covers a generous span of ceiling without hanging low into the room. The shade is white plastic with a crystal effect: fine flecks scattered through it catch the light and add a gentle sparkle to a clean, simple shape. The light source is an integrated 31W LED giving 4,600lm, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms.

With 4,600lm from a single fitting, this is a light for the main ceiling of a living room, a dining room or an open-plan kitchen and dining space, where one central light has to do the work of several. The colour temperature adjusts from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, so the same light can give a cosy glow for a quiet evening and a crisp, bright white for cooking, homework or cleaning. It is dimmable too, which suits households that use one room for many things through the day. Because it sits so close to the ceiling, it also makes sense in rooms where the ceiling is low.

Brightness and colour temperature are set from the remote control, which comes in the box and takes a CR2032 battery. The light has no switch of its own: power comes from the wall switch, and the remote looks after the rest. It runs on 220-240V mains, carries an energy class of E and weighs 2.538KG packed. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Keep the remote somewhere easy to reach, because it is how you change the brightness and colour.
