Description

The Knightsbridge shaver socket provides a 230V AC 20VA shaver supply alongside dual USB charging ports (one USB-A, one USB-C) behind a matt black screwless faceplate. IP41 rated for use in bathroom zones where appropriate, the unit combines traditional shaver charging with modern device charging in a single fitting.

Designed for bathroom installation in positions beyond 600mm from a bath or shower enclosure (Zone 2 or outside zones), the shaver socket supplies 230V AC power suitable for UK and European shavers and toothbrushes through a dedicated transformer. The dual USB ports share a combined 5V DC 2.4A output, allowing simultaneous charging of phones, tablets and other small devices while the shaver socket remains available for its primary purpose.

The matt black finish on premium-grade steel gives the fitting a contemporary, low-reflectivity appearance that pairs with modern bathroom sanitaryware, matt black taps and shower fittings. The screwless low-profile design uses a cover plate that clips onto a separate sub-frame, eliminating visible fixings. A built-in gasket behind the faceplate provides the IP41 ingress protection rating. The 47mm minimum mounting box depth accommodates the transformer and USB charging circuitry.

Yes. The IP41 rating allows installation in bathroom Zone 2 or outside zones — typically 600mm or more from a bath or shower enclosure. It must not be installed within immediate reach of a person using a bath or shower (Zone 1 or Zone 0).

What output do the USB ports provide?

The USB-A and USB-C ports share a combined 5V DC 2.4A output. Both ports can be used simultaneously, but the 2.4A total is shared between connected devices rather than 2.4A per port.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed to accommodate the shaver transformer and USB charging circuitry. The screwless cover plate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Is the shaver socket suitable for both UK and European shavers?

The socket supplies 230V AC through a standard two-pin shaver outlet, compatible with both UK and European shaver plugs. It does not accept standard three-pin UK mains plugs.
