Description

Black organza over a broad, shallow cylinder: 35cm across with a low profile, so the shade reads as a clean circle from below rather than a deep drum. The weave gives the black a soft sheen and lets a little light glow through the sides, while the bulk of the light falls downward. We like it where a taller shade would crowd the space, either over a table or on a slim lamp base. The shape is plain and the edge crisp, which keeps the attention on the fabric itself.

This is a non-electric shade, so it takes its power from whatever it sits on, and it is happy on a pendant flex or on a table lamp. A GLS A60 LED is the lamp we would choose for it, up to 20W, which keeps the temperature low inside a fabric shade of this depth. It suits a pair of bedside lamps, a hallway console, a reading corner, or a low pendant hung over a kitchen island where headroom is tight.

Organza is a fine fabric and wants a gentle hand: a soft brush or a low vacuum setting across the outer face now and then, kept dry, and dust lifted from the inside rather than rubbed at. Keep it out of long hours of direct sun and the black holds its depth. It carries a one year warranty.
