Description

Organza gives this small cylinder its character: a fine, open weave in grey that softens the light without shutting it in. The straight sides measure 16cm across, and the fabric reads as a pale haze by day, warming through once the lamp is on. Organza is a sheer fabric, so the shade gives diffusion rather than a solid block of colour. At this scale it stays in proportion with slim bases and narrow lamp stems. The grey is quiet rather than cold, and it sits easily alongside white walls, oak and brass.

Dual mount means it will sit on a table lamp or hang as a small pendant shade, whichever the room needs. We reach for this size on bedside tables and hall consoles, and on compact sitting room lamps where a taller shade would sit too heavy. Sheer fabric like this leans towards a low, ambient level in the evening rather than a working light, so it does well in bedrooms and snugs and beside a sofa. The host fitting takes an LED golf ball lamp of up to 20W.
