Description

The Knightsbridge Seren is a recessed LED downlight with three switchable wattage settings (15W, 20W, 25W) and three selectable colour temperatures (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 5000K cool white). A DIP switch on the rear of the driver allows the installer to select the required output and colour temperature before ceiling installation, making it possible to standardise on a single product across different zones within the same project.

Designed for commercial applications including offices, retail spaces, hotels and education facilities, the Seren fits a 170mm ceiling cut-out and requires a minimum 100mm ceiling void to accommodate the 69.5mm recessed depth and driver assembly. The fitting uses a die-cast aluminium heat sink with white powder-coated finish and an opal polycarbonate diffuser that produces a 110-degree beam angle, suitable for general area lighting rather than accent or task work. The Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required during installation.

The 0-10V dimming protocol allows the Seren to integrate with most commercial lighting control systems, though compatibility should be confirmed with the specific dimmer model before installation. Plug-and-play connectors on the driver simplify first-fix wiring and allow the fitting to be removed for ceiling maintenance without needing to re-wire. The fitting carries an IP40 rating from below (IP20 from above), making it suitable for dry interior environments but not bathrooms or wet areas. Knightsbridge rates the LED module at 50,000 hours L70B50 lifespan and backs the fitting with a five-year warranty.

How do I change the wattage and colour temperature?

The wattage (15W/20W/25W) and CCT (3000K/4000K/5000K) are selected using DIP switches on the driver before the fitting is installed in the ceiling. Once the ceiling is closed up, these settings cannot be changed without removing the fitting to access the driver.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 100mm ceiling void is required to accommodate the 69.5mm recessed depth of the fitting plus the driver assembly and wiring connections.

Is the Seren suitable for bathroom installation?

No. The IP40 rating (IP20 from above) makes the Seren suitable for dry interior commercial spaces only. It does not meet the IP rating requirements for bathroom zones.

What dimming protocol does it use?

The Seren uses 0-10V dimming protocol. Check compatibility with your specific dimmer or lighting control system before installation, as not all 0-10V dimmers behave identically at low dim levels.
