Description

The Selvano is a 1.8m floor lamp built around a 280mm globe of natural Spanish alabaster, mounted at the top of a slim matte black stem on a low circular base. A single G9 lamp sits inside the alabaster sphere, casting light through the stone so the globe itself becomes the diffuser. The frame is solid copper finished in matte black, giving the stem rigidity at its narrow profile.

At full standing height the lamp suits living rooms, bedrooms and reading corners where a tall, slender silhouette is wanted without the bulk of a shaded floor lamp. The 280mm globe sits roughly at standing eye level, giving an ambient pool of light around it rather than directed task light. The narrow base footprint means the lamp tucks neatly beside a sofa arm, console table or bedside cabinet without intruding on the floor area.

Each alabaster globe is cut and hollowed from natural stone, so the veining, cloudiness and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. When the G9 is lit, the marbling becomes visible through the stone in a way it isn't when the lamp is off, giving the globe two distinct appearances depending on whether it's switched on. The matte black stem and base recede visually, keeping attention on the alabaster as the principal material.

Does the Selvano come with a bulb?

The lamp takes a single G9 capsule bulb. Bulbs are not included as standard. A 2700K-3000K warm-white G9 LED is recommended to bring out the warm tones of the natural alabaster veining.

Is each alabaster globe identical?

No. Every globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, cloudiness and tonal variation differ between pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and means each lamp is visually unique.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the globe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the surface.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The G9 lamp holder operates on standard 230V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific G9 bulb and dimmer used — check that the bulb is rated as dimmable and pair it with a compatible LED-rated dimmer where required.
