Description

Standing 100cm from floor to head, this is a slim upright post with a narrow top that casts its light downward and out across the ground. The finish pairs a dark anthracite body with warmer walnut, so the tone shifts as you walk past. The LED is built in and draws 13W, giving a soft warm white with a broad spread rather than a tight pool, and the output is fixed rather than dimmable.

Sealed against dust and splashing water, it is as at home on a patio or beside a garden path as it is in a porch or a hallway. We like these in pairs, set to each side of a front door or flanking a short run of steps, where a taller light would look out of proportion. On a decked terrace it puts enough light on the boards to walk safely without glare at eye level. Because the light works downward and wide, it suits borders, seating areas and boundary edges where you want the ground lit and the sky left dark.

The dark casing and the walnut tone read as a whole rather than as a trim stuck on afterwards. The driver is included, so nothing further is needed to run it. For upkeep, wipe the post down with a damp cloth and dry it off, and clear grit and fallen leaves from around the base once the season turns; the LED itself needs no changing. It carries a three year warranty. Smaller floor lamps in the same range, along with a wall light and a version with a motion sensor, let you match a path to a wall.
