Description
The Ruby is a 320mm flush-mount ceiling light with a circular opal glass diffuser held within a satin nickel rim. The fitting projects just 100mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with lower ceiling heights where a pendant would hang too low. A single E27 bulb (sold separately, up to 100W) sits behind the opal glass, which diffuses the light evenly across the surface rather than casting it in one direction.
Designed for hallways, landings, bedrooms, bathrooms (with suitable IP-rated bulb), and smaller living spaces, the Ruby provides general ambient light without the visual weight of a larger fitting. The flush-mount installation means the fitting sits close to the ceiling plane, leaving headroom clear. The satin nickel finish on the metal rim gives a neutral metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool-toned interiors.
The opal white glass is a solid, milk-white material that blocks direct view of the bulb while allowing light to pass through evenly. This prevents harsh glare and creates a soft, even wash of light across the ceiling and into the room. The 1.4kg weight sits comfortably on standard UK ceiling roses, and the E27 fitting accepts LED, halogen or traditional filament bulbs, giving flexibility to choose the colour temperature and wattage that suits the space.

Frequently Asked
Is this suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The 100mm projection means the fitting sits close to the ceiling plane, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or lower where a pendant would hang too low or feel visually intrusive.
What bulb does it take?
The Ruby takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 100W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 10-15W LED bulb in 2700K-3000K for general ambient light in a bedroom or hallway.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, provided you use a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all LED bulbs dim smoothly, so check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before pairing with a dimmer.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The fitting itself does not carry an IP rating, but it can be used in bathroom zones 2 or 3 (outside the shower enclosure, away from direct water contact) provided the bulb used is rated for bathroom use. For zones 1 or 2 (above a bath or inside a shower), an IP44 or IP65-rated fitting is required.
