Description

The Royal is an oval crystal chandelier built around a fluted gold metal crown that supports two tiers of cut crystal prisms hanging beneath. Available in three sizes taking 8, 12 or 16 E14 candle bulbs, the fitting suspends from twin steel cables for a clean horizontal line above a dining table or kitchen island. The crown's vertical brass-toned blades catch and bounce light upwards, while the crystal drops scatter it down across the table surface.

Designed as a horizontal centrepiece rather than a circular ceiling fitting, the Royal suits oval and rectangular dining tables, long kitchen islands and wide entrance halls. The smallest size at 90cm long pairs with tables seating 4-6, the medium 120cm with 6-8 seaters, and the largest 150cm with 8-10 seaters or extended islands. A minimum ceiling height of around 2.6m is recommended to keep the bottom of the crystal at a comfortable distance above the table.

The frame combines a polished gold-finished metal upper section with two graduated tiers of clear cut-crystal prisms, each prism cut to a triangular profile that refracts light into sharp points rather than soft glints. The cable suspension allows the drop height to be adjusted on installation. With 8, 12 or 16 individual E14 lamps depending on size, the Royal puts out enough light to function as primary dining illumination without needing supporting downlights.

Which size suits my dining table?

As a guide, the chandelier should be roughly two-thirds the length of the table beneath it. The 90cm small fits tables seating 4-6, the 120cm medium fits 6-8, and the 150cm large fits 8-10 or extended kitchen islands. Hang the bottom of the crystal 70-85cm above the table surface.

What bulbs does it take?

The chandelier takes E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs: 8 lamps in the small, 12 in the medium and 16 in the large. Bulbs are sold separately. Warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K give the best interaction with the cut crystal.

Can it be installed on a sloped or low ceiling?

The Royal hangs from twin steel cables that can be shortened on installation, but it is not designed for sloped ceilings. A minimum flat ceiling height of around 2.6m is recommended to leave clearance above a dining table.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Switch the chandelier off and let the bulbs cool. Wipe the crystal prisms with a soft, lint-free cloth using either a dry pass or a light mist of glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth rather than the crystal. Avoid spraying liquid directly onto the metal frame.
