Description

The Rovito is a slim rectangular LED panel light for the ceiling, with a black plastic frame around a white plastic diffuser. It measures 57cm long, 30cm wide and only 3cm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling and keeps a low profile where a hanging pendant would feel awkward. The LEDs are integrated and give 2,580 lumens, a generous output for lighting a whole room from one point. It is rated IP44, which means it is protected from splashing water, so as well as dry living spaces it can be suggested for a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone.

We see it working well in hallways, landings, kitchens and living rooms, where one flat panel lights the space without crowding the ceiling. The colour temperature is given as 2700K, 4000K and 6500K, spanning warm white, neutral white and cool daylight white, so the same fitting can suit a cosy lounge in the evening or a kitchen where you want crisp, clear light for cooking. The black frame draws a neat outline against a white or pale grey ceiling and sits comfortably alongside black picture frames, door handles and window frames.

The body and the diffuser are both plastic, which keeps the whole light to 1.3KG. The LED and driver are not replaceable, so there is never a bulb to change, though it does mean the panel is replaced as a whole unit at the end of its life. It runs on 220-240V mains and carries energy class D. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, so your existing wall switch does the job. As a mains light wired into the ceiling, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download, worth passing on before the work begins.
