Description

The Rovito is a square LED panel light for the ceiling, 50cm long, 50cm wide and only 3.2cm deep, so it sits close and flat against the ceiling rather than hanging down into the room. A slim black plastic frame borders a white plastic diffuser, and the contrast gives a crisp, graphic outline against a pale ceiling. The LEDs are integrated and give 2,800 lumens, a generous amount of light from a single fitting. It is rated IP44, meaning it is protected from splashing water, so it is as much at home in a kitchen or a bathroom as in a dry living room.

Because it lies so flat, the panel suits hallways, landings and rooms with lower ceilings, where a pendant would eat into the head height. Its colour temperature is given as 2700K, 4000K and 6500K, which runs from a warm white for relaxed evenings, through a neutral white for a kitchen or study, to a crisp, cool white for close work. In a bathroom, a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. In a home office, a utility room or a busy family kitchen, one panel spreads an even wash of light across the whole space, so you see clearly without a cluster of lamps.

It runs on mains power at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and has no switch of its own, so it is switched at the wall like any ceiling light; as a wired-in fitting, it is installed by a qualified electrician. The LED and driver are not replaceable, which means the light source is built into the panel and there is never a bulb to change. It weighs 1.93KG and carries an energy class of D. The installation instructions come as a download, so they are easy to keep to hand on fitting day.
