Description

Round, shallow and quietly modern, this is a glass flush fitting with a silver frame and a frosted glass diffuser that spreads light evenly rather than throwing it in a beam. It measures 24cm across and sits close to the ceiling, so it reads as a soft disc of light rather than a shape hanging in the room. A single E27 socket sits behind the glass, and we would fit an LED GLS lamp here for a warm, even glow. It will dim too, given a dimmable lamp and a matching dimmer.

Its moisture protection makes it a sensible choice for bathrooms, shower rooms, cloakrooms and utility spaces, while the modest diameter suits the tighter ceilings of a hallway, landing or box room. We reach for this one where headroom is short and a pendant would hang too low, or where two or three are wanted along a corridor to give a run of light without visual clutter. It works well in flats, loft conversions and anywhere a plain ceiling wants covering neatly and without fuss.

The frame is finished in silver, cool and slightly reflective against white paint, and the frosted glass hides the lamp so the light arrives softened rather than glaring. It is double insulated in construction. Frosted glass shows dust more readily than clear, so a wipe with a barely damp cloth once the fitting has cooled, then a dry buff, keeps it looking fresh; no scouring pads or solvent cleaners, which will dull the surface. We also stock the same shape with a white frame, which disappears more completely into a pale ceiling if silver reads too cool for the room. It carries a one year warranty.
