The Renee is a 415mm tall crystal table lamp base built around a central column of three faceted crystal pieces stacked on a clear crystal disc base, separated and capped by silver-finished metal fittings. The lamp accepts a standard E27 bulb (sold separately) and is supplied without a shade, allowing you to pair it with any shade that fits a 29mm gimbal ring.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and side tables where a decorative base can carry different shades depending on the room, the Renee works across traditional, transitional and modern interiors. The 115mm base diameter keeps the footprint compact enough for narrow bedside tables, while the 1.6kg weight keeps the lamp stable when a shade is fitted. The inline switch on the cable allows the lamp to be turned on and off without reaching for a wall switch.

The cut crystal pieces refract light from the bulb when the lamp is lit, throwing soft prismatic highlights onto nearby surfaces. The silver-finished metal caps and collar between the crystal sections introduce a cool metallic accent that pairs cleanly with chrome hardware, stainless steel and grey-toned interiors. The lamp is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing the light level to be adjusted for reading or ambient lighting depending on time of day.

Each crystal piece is precision-cut with flat facets that catch and split light at different angles depending on viewing position. The clear cable runs from the base through to an inline rocker switch positioned approximately 1.5m from the base, giving flexibility in how the cable is routed to the nearest socket.

What shade fitting does this take?

The Renee accepts any shade with a standard 29mm gimbal ring (also called a duplex ring or spider fitting). This is the most common shade fitting for table lamps in the UK. The shade sits on the ring and is held in place by the bulb screwing into the E27 holder from below.

What bulb should I use?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for general ambient light or bedside reading. If you want dimming capability, choose a dimmable LED and ensure your wall dimmer is LED-compatible.

Is the crystal prone to chipping?

The cut crystal pieces are relatively robust under normal handling, but they can chip if knocked hard against a solid surface. Handle with care during assembly and when changing bulbs or shades.

Can I use this without a shade?

Yes, but an exposed bulb will create glare and may not provide the best light quality for most applications. A shade diffuses the light and protects eyes from direct bulb brightness, making the lamp more comfortable to use in living spaces and bedrooms.
