Description
The Reka PIR EL Square is a staked garden spike light that pushes a square aluminium head above a border or planting bed on a single ground spike. It runs on 7W at 340 lumens, drawing direct from 220-240V AC mains rather than a low-voltage supply, and casts a neutral 4000K beam over a wide spread of up to 90 degrees. Gardeners in the US will recognise this format as a landscape spike light or pathway light, the upright staked fitting used to graze a path edge or pick out planting after dark.
Staked into soil or a planting border, the Reka Square works as an accent rather than broad area lighting, so its output is best judged by what it picks out rather than a floor coverage figure. The neutral white tone suits a defined path edge, a low shrub, a step approach or a feature near a porch or carport, where the wide beam washes across nearby foliage and paving. Its IP54 rating makes it splash-resistant and suited to sheltered or covered outdoor spots; keep it clear of fully-exposed positions, direct water jets and standing water. The 90 degree spread means a small group of spikes can mark out a run of border without harsh pools between them.
The body is aluminium alloy in an anthracite finish that sits quietly against soil, gravel and timber, and the square head measures 100 by 102 by 151 mm at a weight of 686 g. As a mains-voltage fitting it needs no separate transformer, wiring directly into a 220-240V AC supply at the spike. The light is not dimmable and uses an integrated LED rated to around 30,000 hours, with a CRI of Ra 80 for honest colour on planting and stone. We also stock other Reka decking and ground lights in the range if you need matching profiles across a scheme.

Frequently Asked
What IP rating does it have and can it be used outdoors?
It is rated IP54, which means it is splash-resistant and dust-protected. That suits sheltered or covered outdoor positions such as a planted border under eaves, a porch edge or a carport. Avoid fully-exposed spots, direct water jets and any standing water.
Does it run on mains or need a transformer?
It runs directly on 220-240V AC mains, so no separate low-voltage transformer or driver is required. You wire it straight into the mains supply at the spike position. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician for any fixed outdoor connection.
Is the bulb included or replaceable?
The Reka Square uses an integrated LED rather than a replaceable bulb, so there is nothing to fit or change. The LED is rated to around 30,000 hours of use. When it eventually reaches end of life the whole fitting is replaced.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe the aluminium head and lens with a soft, damp cloth to clear soil splashes, leaf debris and dust that can dull the output. Switch the supply off first and avoid abrasive cleaners on the anthracite finish. A quick wipe every few weeks keeps the beam bright across the planting.
