Description
This R7S LED bulb is a double-ended linear lamp made to replace an older linear-halogen tube. It draws just 6W while giving 510 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, with a wide 110 degree spread and a colour rendering of Ra 80 for natural-looking tones. The R7S cap pushes into the spring contacts at each end of the holder, so it slots straight into the fittings that took the original halogen stick.
Being a compact 78mm linear lamp, it suits the kind of fittings that used the old halogen format, such as wall uplighters, picture and display fittings, and slim ceiling or shelf housings. The 110 degree beam casts a broad, even wash rather than a tight spot, so it works well where you want general fill light across a surface or wall. Coverage depends on the fitting it sits in, so treat the light as a soft, spread output rather than a directional throw. The bulb is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, outdoor spots and any damp setting.
The lamp measures 78 by 28 by 78mm and weighs 46g, in a white finish. It runs on 220 to 240V AC mains and is rated for around 20,000 hours, far longer than the halogen it stands in for, while the 6W draw against a 100 lm/W efficiency keeps running costs low. This R7S bulb is non-dimmable, so pair it with a standard switched circuit rather than a dimmer. It sits within our wider range of replacement LED lamps covering the common cap fittings.

Frequently Asked
Which fitting does this R7S bulb need?
It uses the R7S double-ended linear cap, the same format as the old linear-halogen tubes. The lamp is 78mm long and pushes into the sprung contacts at each end of the holder. Check your existing fitting takes the 78mm R7S length before ordering.
What old halogen wattage does it replace?
It draws only 6W while producing 510 lumens, so it stands in for a much higher-wattage linear halogen tube of the same 78mm format. At 100 lm/W and around 20,000 hours of rated life, it uses far less power and lasts considerably longer than the halogen it replaces.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No, this R7S lamp is non-dimmable. Run it on a standard switched circuit rather than a dimmer switch, as pairing it with a dimmer can cause flicker or shorten its life.
What colour of light does it give?
It produces warm white light at 3000K, a soft, comfortable tone that suits living and display areas. With a colour rendering of Ra 80, it shows colours and surfaces accurately for everyday use.
