Description

The QTX VertiBox is a compact fog machine (called a smoke machine in some setups) that fires a vertical jet of fog straight up from a small box-sized unit. It puts out around 20,000 cubic feet per minute, so you get a strong column of fog from something that packs away easily. The 1.2 litre fluid tank sits inside the unit and can be removed for quick refilling between events, and side-folding carry handles make it simple to move from one job to the next.

Twelve 8W RGBA LEDs are built into the top of the unit, adding colour to the fog as it rises. You can run the light show alongside the smoke effect or leave it off if you only want the fog. Control is handled three ways: an in-built panel with an LCD display, a 433MHz keyfob-style RF wireless remote, or 8-channel DMX for tying it into a wider rig. Warm-up takes around four to five minutes from cold.

This is a 1200W machine running on a 220-240V supply with an F10A fuse, and it weighs 4.52kg with dimensions of 260 x 240 x 185mm. UK and EU mains leads are both supplied, so it is ready to use straight out of the box in either region. The vertical output suits stages, dance floors and photo work where you want fog rising rather than spreading low across the floor.
