Description
The QTX SW-D2 is a 1500W digital snow machine built for large venues and seasonal events. It uses a heavy duty fan to convert snow fluid into a blizzard of foam particles, giving the look of falling snow across a floor or crowd. With a 1500W output and area coverage of around 10 square metres on the floor with the nozzle set at 45 degrees, it suits professional stage shows, themed installations and corporate events.
You control the machine three ways. The digital panel on the rear gives precise settings directly on the unit, the included 433MHz keyfob-style RF wireless remote lets you trigger output from a distance, and single channel DMX 512 gives you fan on/off and output from 1 to 100 percent when the machine is part of a wider lighting rig. The removable 5 litre fluid tank makes topping up and cleaning straightforward, and we recommend using it with QTX snow fluid (160.578UK, 160.579UK).
Running on a 220-240Vac IEC supply at 50/60Hz, the SW-D2 measures 250 x 390 x 490mm and weighs 8.5kg, so it is portable enough for touring while sturdy enough for fixed installs. Placed at height, it will reach up to around 4 metres and throw to a maximum distance of about 5 metres, covering roughly 20 square metres from 5 metres and around 30 square metres from 10 metres. An F8A fuse protects the unit. For anyone dressing a space with a convincing snowfall effect, this is a capable and controllable option.
